The Camera Snap Shot icon allows you to use the device camera to take and upload an image to associate with any Guest Account or Stay (such as a picture of the guest's face or their drivers license). The image taken using the Camera Snap Shot icon is saved for viewing on the Documents attached to this ... (Contact or Stay) screen, which is reached via the Upload File icon. The image will also show on the quick reservation screen (at the bottom) for any corresponding Stay.
The icon is shown as a camera, and appears in the Folio screen local tool bar positioned next to and on the right of the electronic signature icon.
The Camera Snap Shot icon is one of several tool bar icons giving quick access to various functions. Not all tool bars appear the same; depending on the screen the tool bar is used with, different functions will be available. Several icons appear on many tool bars within Skyware and are therefore considered "common". There are also several tool bar icons which appear on few types of screen, but you may see often - some of the most important tool bars in Skyware are those found on the accounts screens, such as a guest account or any group account, or on the stay screens, for an individual Stay screen or for a group booking. Whenever you work with guest and/or reservation information in the system, you will therefore see a version of this tool bar.
On the Guest Account screen OR the Main Folio screen for the relevant Stay, click the Camera Snap Shot icon.
Clicking the icon will open a new window called "Camera Snapshot".
Note: if this is the first time the icon has been used, you may also see the following pop up message before you can use the camera.
Select Allow to continue.
The Camera Snapshot window will open, showing a live image of the view your camera currently has.
This window also contains the button "Take Snapshot" which allows you to capture the image (take the picture), and if no picture has yet been taken, there will be a message below the live image, which informs you where the captured image will subsequently appear.
When ready, click the "Take Snapshot" button. The captured image will appear directly below the live camera view in the window.
The "Take Snapshot" button can be used to re-take the image as often as wanted, until you are happy with the image produced. Each subsequent clicking of the button will take another image and replace the captured image with the new image; only one image at a time can be captured.
When ready, click the "Click to Save" button to save the image.
The Capture Snapshot window will close automatically, returning you to the Guest Account or Main Folio screen, with the captured image saved in Skyware and placed in the Documents attached to this... (Contact or Stay) screen, reached via the Upload File icon.
The image is displayed on the screen directly (does not need to be clicked to view) for ease of use. As with any attached files, the image may be deleted from the Documents attached to this... (Contact or Stay) screen if wished simply by clicking on the large red "X" to the left of the image.
If added to a specific Stay, the captured image will also be shown on the quick reservation screen (at bottom) for the corresponding Stay; if added to the Guest Information screen, the image will be shown on the reservation screen for ANY associated Stays.
Note: It is possible to save multiple images for a single guest account or Stay, one at a time. Every time you use the Camera Snap Shot icon, a new image can be saved and all saved images will be available to view on the associated Documents attached to this... (Contact or Stay) screen. However, only the first/top item listed there will be displayed on the Quick Reservation screen.
